Research Summary

My research focuses on vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. I am the Associate Director for Research and Diversity at the 麻豆国产AV Langone Vaccine Center. I lead important investigator-initiated studies, and phase I, II, III vaccine clinical trials of COVID-19, Shingles, Influenza, Mpox, RSV, C.diff, GBS, yellow fever virus, HIV among others.

I am interested in vaccine equity and in communicating vaccine science especially for minoritized groups such as Hispanics or Latinx. I have been invited to multiple public events on vaccine education for the Latinx community next to important figures such Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Demetre Daskalakis (Director of HIV Prevention, CDC), Dr. Carlos del Rio (former President of the IDSA) and Dr. David Chokshi (former NYC Health Commissioner).

Additionally, I have a deep interest in Global Health. I lead an international project on antimicrobial stewardship in low resource settings, and I am an active mentor and educator of future infectious diseases specialists in international settings.
