As a dermatologic surgeon at �鶹����AV Langone, my philosophy of care centers on providing the highest level of treatment for skin cancer. With over 20 years of experience, I am dedicated to ensuring that each patient receives the best care available, leveraging my extensive expertise in micrographic surgery to achieve optimal outcomes. Leading the dermatologic surgery unit at �鶹����AV Langone is particularly meaningful to me, as it marks a return to the institution where I completed my dermatology residency.

My specialty lies in the management of skin cancer, including complex cases requiring advanced tumor removal and reconstruction. I am board-certified in micrographic surgery dermatologic oncology (MSDO) by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and have operated on thousands of patients, focusing on aggressive skin cancers and advanced wound repair. My fellowship training in advanced dermatologic surgery at Yale, allowed me to develop my skills in treating challenging skin cancer cases. My commitment to proactive healthcare engagement ensures that I stay at the forefront of innovations in skin cancer removal and reconstructive surgery.

Throughout my career, I have led a research group dedicated to understanding the immune system’s role in skin disease progression and recovery. My interests can be traced to my PhD thesis work in cellular immunology at SUNY Health Science Center and subsequent Sulzberger fellowship at Rockefeller University. My work has resulted in over 125 peer-reviewed articles and 30 textbook chapters, contributing significantly to the fields of skin cancer immunology, cancer invasion mechanisms, and wound reconstruction. I have also been actively involved in mentorship, guiding students, residents, and fellows who have gone on to hold leadership positions in medicine and science.

Inspired by the complexities and challenges of skin cancer treatment, I have dedicated my career to advancing the field and mentoring the next generation of dermatologic surgeons. As the program director for �鶹����AV Langone’s ACGME-accredited fellowship in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, I remain committed to education and mentorship, ensuring that our program continues to produce leaders in the field.
